about Ruby

Ruby is located on the south bank of the Yukon River near the Kilbuck-Kuskowim Mountains.  Nearby rivers are the Melozi (Melozitna), Deep Creek, Yuki and the Novi (Nowitna). It is 50 miles upriver from Galena and 110 miles downriver of Tanana.

We are just downstream from the mouth of the Melozi. We are one of a few villages on the south side of the river.  The Kokrines Hills are nearby as are the White Cliffs.

We are a small village.  People look out for other village residents.  There’s lots of clean air, space to move around, and places to hunt and fish.
