Project Goals, Measurements & Outcomes
Goal 1: Increase community collaborative efforts that promote college, career readiness of Alaska Native Students

1.1 - Community participation in volunteer work with sled dog program

1.2 - Evaluator-developed survey of Community Involvement
Outcome: Volunteer logs will reflect a 25% increase in participation with program from baseline data.
Goal 2: Increase College Enrollment
Objectives
2.1 - Alaska native students will increase dual credit courses enrollment
2.2 - Alaska native students will show a 10% increase in the percent of students enrolling in college or post-secondary after high school

Outcome: A 10% increase in college enrollment numbers over baseline data for Alaska Native students each year of the project.

Goal 4: Improve Student’s Career and Technical Skills related to Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science

4.3 - Students obtain apprenticeships for job experience

Outcome: A 10% growth each year in the number of students participating in career and/or college-level courses (High School students only).
Goal 5: Improve Teacher Cultural Heritage Knowledge

Outcome: A 20% increase each year in Teachers' knowledge about Alaska Native Culture as measured by Standards.

Alaska Gateway School District
Administrative oversight curriculum, development, contractual partner/instructor arrangements, policy/procedures, fiscal oversight, and sustainability.
Yukon Koyukuk School District
Administrative oversight curriculum, development, contractual partner/instructor arrangements, policy/procedures, facilities, and sustainability.
Ruby Tribal Council
Has agreed to provide Alaska Native Elders and skilled community members to act as career and cultural mentors for participating students; will also assist with sustainability.
Koyukuk Tribal Council
Has agreed to provide Alaska Native Elders and skilled community members to act as career and cultural mentors for participating students.
Hughes Village Council
Has agreed to provide Alaska Native Elders and skilled community members to act as career and cultural mentors for participating students; will also assist with sustainability.
Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC)
Will provide information to TCC staff working to include Alaska Native related curriculum within the Interior Athabascan Tribal College Library; will also assist in sustainability.

Kennel Owners
Nine kennel owners will participate in this project.

Will provide program management oversight and fiscal management, expertise and programs experience in previously implemented cultural heritage training to teachers and administrators.
University of Alaska Fairbanks
Offering dual credit courses, renowned cultural staff, leadership, knowledge, direct training, and Alaska Native Knowledge Network curriculum.
Advanced Evaluations, LLC
Will evaluate progress of project and provide guidance; Member of the American Evaluation Association with more than 20 years experience in providing evaluation services on federal projects.
